Finished

1. Read John 19:28-30 together. What stands out to you about Jesus choosing when to speak and what to say in His final moments? How does this shape your view of whether Jesus was a victim or fully in control?

2. Read John 1:29 alongside John 19:28. How does understanding Jesus as “the Lamb of God” give deeper meaning to His statement that His mission was finished?

3. Read Psalm 69:21 and John 19:29. Why do you think John intentionally connects Jesus’ thirst to prophecy? What does this reveal about God’s plan and attention to detail?

4. Read Matthew 16:21-22. Why did Peter resist Jesus’ plan so strongly, and where do you see yourself sometimes resisting what God is doing because it doesn’t match your expectations?

5. Read Romans 8:1. If Jesus truly paid your debt “in full,” what areas of your life do you still live as if you owe something to God? What would it look like to actually live free from condemnation?

6. Read John 3:16-17. How does the truth that salvation is a free gift (not something earned) challenge the way you typically think about your relationship with God?

7. Read Ephesians 2:8-9. Why is it so difficult for us to “do nothing” in response to Jesus’ sacrifice? How can you shift from trying to repay Jesus to simply receiving His grace and responding out of love?
