All the Feels - Joy
This message confronts us with a challenging truth: success can be our greatest spiritual danger. Drawing from Romans 12:3, we're reminded that the Apostle Paul urges us not to think of ourselves more highly than we ought. We see how pride shifts our focus inward, making us believe we deserve credit for our accomplishments while forgetting that every good and perfect gift comes from God (James 1:17). The message walks us through the destructive nature of pride, showing how it leads to disgrace, conflict, destruction, and humiliation according to Proverbs. But there's hope in humility. When we recognize that everything we have (our talents, opportunities, intelligence, and abilities) are gifts from God, we can't help but celebrate others rather than elevate ourselves. The call is clear: live with open hands before God, acknowledging that we are recipients of grace who have been rescued by Jesus, not because we earned it, but because He loves us. This perspective transforms how we view our achievements and frees us to experience true joy through humility.
